Nassagweya Focus Group

Your opinion Counts!

I can make up my own mind – no problem there!  But occasionally topics come before council where I feel I can make a better decision based on feedback from the community at large.  My Nassagaweya Focus Group has been a great source of input on a wide range of topics, such as the Animal Control By-Law, User Fees, (especially that $25 fee attached to burn permits) Milton’s strategic plan, and high-speed internet, or lack thereof.

The number of emails through the year isn’t onerous. Sometimes a topic may allow only a couple of days for comment, others may have up to two weeks.  All emails go out BCC, and the address list is never shared unless, and specifically, agreed to otherwise.  I hope you will sign up.  Use the Contact Jan Mowbray form: enter “Nassagaweya Focus” in the subject line, and provide your name and where you live.  The Focus group is only for residents of Nassagaweya.  Your opinion does count!

I would approve a tax increase (though not tooo large!) if it could be shown that LOCAL conditions would improve. I would like the roads right around here to be made safer for people to walk, ride bikes, ride horses. We need shoulders (or one) on each road, wide and safe! And lower speed limits, and enough police surveillance to ensure a lower speed limit would actually be enforced
Does someone have to get killed before this problem is addressed!
Studies have shown that city people are fitter than country people, because they can get out and walk. Our roads are not safe to walk on!
